In the Myvatn area, you will find many breathtaking views. However, don’t forget that while Iceland is beautiful, the weather conditions are unpredictable and can change quickly.
We often say, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes.” That’s why, when planning your trip, it’s always a good idea to check the road conditions and the weather forecast. Our reception staff will be happy to assist you with that.

Keep in mind those roads
On the Diamond Circle route, there are two important roads to note:
- 1) Road 864 – 4-wheel drive is recommended for comfort but not strictly necessary.
- 2) Road 862 – 4-wheel drive is mandatory for the second part of the road.

Winter or Summer there is always something to do around Myvatn. All the tours and activities can be booked at the reception with no extra charge.
Rent a bike

- Rent a bike and have an easy ride to the baths, several tours are offered adapted for all of levels.
- Pick up and drop off, offered from the hotel.
Jarðbödin/ Nature Baths
All year
- Nobody comes to Mývatn without having a dip in the Nature Baths.
- Enjoy the midnight sun during the summer or the northern lights during the winter.
- Special prices for children, students, senior citizens and disabled.
Horse Backriding
All year
- Owned by locals 3kms from the Hotel, ride an Icelandic horse for 1h or 2h wether you are a beginners or an experienced rider.
Askja

A laundry service can be done at Daddi’s pizza about 15 minutes drive from the hotel and get picked up the next day.
- A small supermarket and a gas station are situated in the village of Reykjahlið, 18 km from the hotel.
