Welcome to
Hotel Laxa

Hotel Laxa is a modern Icelandic hotel built in 2014. Together with hotel we have on-site restaurant – Eldey Restaurant.

We are located in Mývatn, the perfect base for exploring the Mývatn area in North Iceland.

Our Happy Guests!

Absolutely amazing. The decor is minimalist and classy, and it transport you to a winter wonderland in the middle of what seemed like nowhere. Northern lights were icing on the cake and their staff were proactive in reminding guests to catch the spectacle.

The hotel is located close to Myvatn Lake, outside of any town. Also close to Pastoral setting. Very nice hotel, pretty new I think. Very nice rooms, nice hotel check-in staff. Very well located if you plan on hiking in the area. Nicest rooms we’ve experienced so far, good beds, linens, nice bathroom.

Lovely staff and room. Really liked the touch of putting your name on a list on check-in to have a wake up call when the northern lights were active. Amazing views of the northern lights and very good value for money. Breakfast was lovely, great variety, something for everyone.
